This policy describes how Recalli handles information when you use the app.
Summary
- Recalli does not require an account to use.
- Your reminders are stored locally on your device.
- Optional features (like voice, camera, calendar sync) require permissions you control.
- Subscriptions and payments are handled by Apple via the App Store.
- If AI extraction is enabled, some text (e.g., OCR or Optical Character Recognition text) may be sent to our configured AI provider (Google Gemini) to generate structured reminder fields.
- We do not track you, use analytics SDKs, or sell your data.
Information you provide
Recalli processes information you enter to create and manage reminders, such as:
- Reminder titles, due dates/times, notes, and checklist items
- Optional reminder types
- Optional avatar image you select
Device permissions
Microphone & Speech Recognition
Used for voice input. You can deny or revoke this permission in iOS Settings.
Camera / Photos
Used for picture input and selecting images. OCR is performed to extract text from images.
Notifications
Used to schedule reminder alerts and summaries, if you enable notifications.
Calendar / Reminders (optional)
If you enable sync, Recalli can create/update items in Apple’s Calendar/Reminders on your device.
AI extraction & network requests
Recalli uses third-party AI services to analyze raw data and extract structured reminder information.
- Voice Input: When you use voice input, your audio is transcribed on-device or via Apple's services, and the resulting text is sent to Google Gemini to identify tasks, dates, and times.
- Picture Input: When you provide an image, text is extracted via OCR and sent to Google Gemini to generate structured reminder fields.
- Data Minimization: We only send the minimum amount of text necessary for extraction (typically capped at 1024 characters). We do not send your personal account information or other unrelated data to these providers.
- External Policies: The processing of this text data is governed by the Google Gemini Privacy Policy. We configure these services to minimize data retention and ensure they do not use your data to train their models where possible.
Subscriptions & payments
Premium subscriptions are processed by Apple via the App Store. Recalli does not receive your payment card details. Apple may provide subscription status to the app so it can unlock Premium features.
Data retention & deletion
Your reminders remain on your device unless you delete them or uninstall the app. Since there are no user accounts, you have full control over your data. Deleting the app removes all locally stored reminders. If you enable sync to Apple Calendar/Reminders, data may also exist in those Apple apps until you remove it.
Children’s privacy
Recalli is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with information, please contact us.
