Privacy Policy
Our Commitment to Your Privacy
This policy describes how LiMinder handles information when you use the app.
Summary
- LiMinder does not require an account to use.
- Your reminders are stored locally on your device.
- Optional features (like voice, camera, calendar sync) require permissions you control.
- Google Calendar sync is an optional feature. If enabled, LiMinder creates, updates, and deletes events in your Google Calendar via the Google Calendar API. You can revoke access at any time in Settings.
- Subscriptions and payments are handled by Apple via the App Store.
- If AI extraction is enabled, some text (e.g., OCR or Optical Character Recognition text) may be sent to our configured AI provider (Google Gemini) to generate structured reminder fields.
- We do not track you, use analytics SDKs, or sell your data.
Information you provide
LiMinder processes information you enter to create and manage reminders, such as:
- Reminder titles, due dates/times, notes, and checklist items
- Optional reminder types
- Optional avatar image you select
Device permissions
Microphone & Speech Recognition
Used for voice input. You can deny or revoke this permission in iOS Settings.
Camera / Photos
Used for picture input and selecting images. OCR is performed to extract text from images.
Notifications
Used to schedule reminder alerts and summaries, if you enable notifications.
Apple Calendar / Reminders (optional)
If you enable sync, LiMinder can create/update items in Apple's Calendar/Reminders on your device.
Google Calendar (optional)
If you enable Google Calendar sync, LiMinder accesses your Google Calendar to create, update, and delete events based on your reminders. Only event metadata (title, date/time, notes) is sent. You can disconnect at any time.
Google Calendar sync & your data
If you enable Google Calendar sync, LiMinder accesses your Google Calendar using the calendar.events scope. This section details how that data is handled.
Data accessed
LiMinder accesses only the following Google Calendar event metadata:
- Event title (from your reminder title)
- Event date and time (from your reminder due date)
- Event notes / description (from your reminder notes, if any)
- Event location (from your reminder location, if any)
- Event ID (assigned by Google, stored locally to enable updates and deletions)
LiMinder does not access: attendee lists, reminders, recurring event patterns, calendar sharing settings, or any other calendar metadata. The scope is limited to creating, updating, and deleting events — it does not grant read access to your existing calendar events beyond the event ID of events created by LiMinder.
Data use
Google Calendar data is used exclusively to provide the user-facing sync feature: one-way synchronization of your reminders to your Google Calendar. Specifically:
- Create: When you add a reminder with a due date, a calendar event is created.
- Update: When you edit a reminder, the corresponding event is updated.
- Delete: When you delete a reminder, the corresponding event is deleted.
Data is never used for any other purpose, including analytics, advertising, AI/ML training, or profiling.
Data transfer & sharing
Google Calendar data is not shared with any third parties. It is transmitted directly between the LiMinder app and Google's Calendar API over HTTPS. No Google Calendar data is sent to AI providers (Gemini or SiliconFlow), analytics services, or any other party. The data stays between your device and Google.
Data protection
- In transit: All API calls use HTTPS (TLS 1.3).
- Tokens: OAuth access and refresh tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain, which is encrypted at rest and accessible only to the LiMinder app.
- No server storage: LiMinder does not store your Google Calendar data on any server. The only persistent identifier is the Google Calendar event ID, stored locally in SwiftData on your device alongside your reminder.
- No logging: Calendar data is never written to server logs or external monitoring systems.
Data retention & deletion
You are in full control of your Google Calendar data:
- Individual events: Deleting a reminder removes the corresponding Google Calendar event (via the Calendar API DELETE endpoint).
- Disconnect: You can disconnect Google Calendar at any time in Settings. This revokes the OAuth token and stops all future sync. Events already created in Google Calendar remain there; you can delete them manually or re-enable sync to manage them again.
- Revoke access: You can revoke LiMinder's access entirely via your Google Account settings at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- Uninstall: Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored event IDs. Calendar events previously synced to Google Calendar remain in your calendar until you manually remove them.
Limited Use compliance
Limited Use Disclosure: The use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. LiMinder does not transfer Google user data to any third party, does not use it for AI/ML model training, and does not use it for any purpose other than providing the user-facing calendar sync feature described above.
AI extraction & network requests
LiMinder uses third-party AI services to analyze raw data and extract structured reminder information.
-
Voice & Picture Input: When you use AI-powered input features, your data (text or image) is
sent to a third-party provider to identify tasks:
- Global: Processed by Google Gemini.
- Simplified & Traditional Chinese: Processed by SiliconFlow (CN regional partner).
- Data Minimization: We only send the minimum amount of text or pixels necessary for extraction. We do not send your personal account information or other unrelated data to these providers.
- External Policies: The processing of this data is governed by the respective providers' policies (Gemini / SiliconFlow). We configure these services to minimize data retention.
Subscriptions & payments
Premium subscriptions are processed by Apple via the App Store. LiMinder does not receive your payment card details. Apple may provide subscription status to the app so it can unlock Premium features.
Data retention & deletion
Your reminders remain on your device unless you delete them or uninstall the app. Since there are no user accounts, you have full control over your data. Deleting the app removes all locally stored reminders. If you enable sync to Apple Calendar/Reminders or Google Calendar, data may also exist in those services until you remove it.
Children's privacy
LiMinder is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with information, please contact us.
